Timber Products is one of the largest employers in our local area. It employs over 150 employees at the Munising operations and over 1,200 employees nationwide, all of whose significant contributions are integral to the overall success of the operations.  

 Timber Products is a family-owned business founded over a century ago, in 1918, with four generations of family having proudly held the helm. It is among the largest material suppliers to the nation’s kitchen cabinet, furniture, flooring and architectural millwork industries.

 The headquarters is based in Springfield, Oregon and manufacturing operations include eight state-of-the-art facilities located across California, Michigan, Oregon and Mississippi which produce hardwood plywood, hardwood lumber, hardwood veneer, softwood plywood, softwood veneer, particleboard and other value-added specialty wood products. 

 The Munising operation was established in 1962 by Cliffs Forest Products with the installation of a hardwood lumber mill. The operations were expanded in 1976 with the construction of a hardwood veneer mill. Timber Products purchased the Munising operations from Cliffs Forest Products in 1988 and continues to invest in one of the most diversified wood products facilities in the Great Lakes region, as well as providing steady financial contributions and community outreach into the local community.
